One Of The Best Night’s Of My Life: Part 1 of the Moonshine Jungle Tour Review

1 Jul

I have spent this weekend trying to find the words to describe one of the most amazing concerts of my life. I literally had an out-of-body experience. I sang along, cried, and tried to imagine that the night of June 29th was a private show and not a concert. Any artist can sing and dance, but Bruno Mars, he gives you the performance of a lifetime. The Moonshine Jungle Tour is the ultimate house party minus the house. It had bright lights, confetti, and (near) deafening sounds that shook the room and the concert goers alike. There is so much to talk about that I will be doing a mini-series of posts reviewing the aspects of the concert. The following post will be about the experience.

Bruno Mars and his amazing band mates are masters at engaging the audience. In the beginning, Mars gave us one simple task, enjoy ourselves. I can’t speak for everyone, but most of the people were singing along and dancing as if no one was watching (and no one was). Lucky for those of us in seats that were pretty far from the stage, there was monitors in  the newly built Barclay’s Center so that everyone could see him up close. Bruno Mars has a voice that can bring tears and smiles in the same breath. I even found myself crying to one of the slower songs that really hit home for me. Although Mr. Mars is “the guy on the ticket” as he put it, he is certainly a team player. His band of Hooligans spent almost as much time in front as Bruno Mars himself. In addition, all of them men had on the same red suits and leopard print shirts making Mr. Mars more of a front man than a solo artist. Strobe lights and pyrotechnics lit up the room while canons were fired to knock our socks off, and they did. After it all, I left with the satisfied feeling that I got my money’s worth and then some! I knew when waited an hour on the Ticketmaster website back in March to get my tickets that this was going to be an entertaining night, but I had no idea just how much.

Over the next few days, I will get in-depth about all of the aspects that made up with amazing night and inspired my friend and I to start saving our money to see Mr. Mars one more time. In my next post, I will cover the set list and how his mashup of r&b hits including “Pony” by Ginuwine and “My Boo” by Ghost Town DJs almost made me fall out of my ‘nosebleed’ seat.

Much Love,

Our Rendition of Run It! by Chris Brown

One day I was singing Run It! when Cici and I realized we sing the song the same way. We both try to match Chris’ chipmunk sound LOL. Check it out!

2012 Music…sickening but addictive

11 Aug

I swear IDK what in the world is going on because we all can agree that music has gone downhill from the 90s and early 2000s. But I seem to be bitten and smitten with some of the new music of 2012. WHAT?!?! Yeah. It scares me too.

Here are some examples:

Up Against The Wall

This song does not feature quality lyrics, but something about it made it hot enough for me to download. Help!

F*** You Betta

I have mentioned Neon Hitch before, but guys I seriously love this song. She is this (skanky) badass that I want to be, but will never be. I have grown to love Neon Hitch and her kool air hair.

Ass Back Home

I can relate to this song so much. I kind of have abandonment issues. NEON HITCH IS WHAT I WOULD LOVE FOR MY ALTER-EGO TO BE LIKE!

Chasing The Sun

Lastly,  MY LOVE FOR THE WANTED IS A CLEAR SIGN THAT BOY BAND HYSTERIA HAS RETURNED IN MY LIFE. I BREAK OUT IN A SPASTIC DANCE EVERY TIME THIS SONG COMES ON. I LOVE THE WANTED!!!

There are many other songs that can be included in the list, but right now these are the ear worms I can not seem to get away from.

ARG!! Videos of The Wanted Won’t Embed

26 Jul

Well here are the two videos of them playing What’s That Song. Ugh, to think I’d actually love another boy band in my life. (Although they are more like a man band…but whatever). I wanted to embed them, but that was not working out.

Coming Attractions

I will be posting a video all about my experience at Vans Warped Tour 2012 at PNC Bank Arts center soon! I’ve even got one video during the Taking Back Sunday performance! Stay tuned!

Neon Hitch and Ariana Grande

23 Jul

First, let me say, I think Ariana Grande is very pretty with red hair.

But if she ever turns into a drunk party girl skank, she’ll turn into Neon Hitch.

Lastly, let me say, I actually like Neon Hitch. Despite her lyrics and lack of clothing, something about her screams bad girl and I like that. She is the epitome of the kind of things we don’t want America’s children seeing, but I love it somehow. Since I can’t dye my hair red and roll around on the floor talking about what I can do better than other women, I live my weird fantasies through Neon Hitch.
